Located at the heart of the Styrian thermal spa country, Fürstenfeld is one of the most charming of East Styrian towns and has a distinctive spirit of festivity and culture.
Fürstenfeld has been influenced by a history which goes back to the 12th century, its geographical position, its people and their commercial and tourist activities.
Overview:
This former fortress town has a centre that has grown over the ages and been preserved. An enduring emphasis on commerce and tourism has taken place against the backdrop of a unique, architecturally charming centre. Visitors and guests to the town enjoy its lovely inner space with its great choice of shops, cosy cafés, confectioners and inns. It is a lively town with relaxing opportunities for shopping and exciting leisure activities - a town that will capture the hearts of its visitors. It is too a town with history and enchantment, a town with a variety of ambiences, romantic squares and historical motifs. Well-maintained park landscapes, green oases, the fortress area with rampart ditches planted with trees, shrubs and flowers - these are the things that define this townscape along with the water features of the eight fountains that impressively symbolize the historic and more recent significance of water.

History - Pfeilburg:
The town has a rich history. On a tour of the town you will realize that Fürstenfeld has not been spared catastrophic fires and plague, or devastation caused by Hajduks, Turks and Kurucs. The remains of the town walls, of the Trutzberg "Kavalier" and the restored "Pfeilburg" bear witness to that to the present day.

Fürstenfeld - a world of enjoyment:
The unique worlds of enjoyment of the Styrian thermal spa country reconvene in the course of the year and on different occasions in the capital of the thermal country. Fürstenfeld has developed a very definite culture of enjoyment and festival atmosphere. The weekly farmers' market on the main square offers a whole spread of regional delicacies and quality produce, restaurants treat their guests to artful specialities and Fürstenfeld's festival-like occasions such as the "Weinkulinarium", pumpkin and bio festival or fish market all celebrate the culinary and the sumptuous but with different emphases.
Fürstenfeld holds "body and soul" together - this is very true.

Fürstenfeld's Family Pool:
